School of Design

The School of Design was founded in 1992 for the purpose of upgrading the level of professional design and providing quality design education programs.As the first of its kind in the nation, the School consists of three Departments:Architecture,
Interior Design, and Commercial Design. Both the Departments of Architecture and Interior Design offer graduate
programs as well.
The major goals of the School are: 

    1)establish a comprehensive and integrated design education system in order to 
    allow each specialized discipline to develop its own uniqueness under a broad
    based design foundation; 
    2)establish its leadership role in setting up national standards for design education;
    3)prepare well-rounded design professionals;
    4)provide quality education to meet the needs of society.

In the past two years,the School of Design at Chung Yuan Christian University has created its own identity by emphasizing the integration of art,technology and humanity, and focusing equally on scholarly as well as creative development. This is a young School,but growing healthily and rapidly.It is the faculty's belief that the School ,while pursuing a goal of academic excellence,must also contribute its professional achievements,quality programs,and world class vision to the design profession.
