I have been a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Chung Yuan Christian University since 2011. My work with polymeric films began during my graduate studies at the University of Montpellier in France and continued at CYCU’s R&D Center for Membrane Technology. I specialize in developing and applying advanced membranes, with a focus on controlling formation mechanisms through the vapor-induced phase separation (VIPS) process. My research spans a wide range of applications, including microfiltration (bacterial removal from water, oil-water emulsion separation, and microalgae harvesting), direct-contact membrane distillation for desalination and the removal of emerging pollutants, and innovative separation processes such as antibiotic degradation, leukocyte removal from whole blood, and combined kill/release of bacteria during filtration. I am deeply honored to have received the Snow Mountain Award, which I attribute to several key factors. First, the research facilities at the R&D Center for Membrane Technology have provided a high-quality environment to develop and refine innovative ideas. Second, my colleagues in the Department of Chemical Engineering—both those with whom I collaborate closely and those whose achievements I am fortunate to witness—continue to inspire and challenge me. Finally, my students and team members play an essential role. Their hard work, shared values, and dedication enable us to consistently publish our findings in peer-reviewed journals, present our work at international conferences, secure research funding, and build a visible presence within the global academic community.
