My research spans three main directions: energy storage materials, graphene, and luminescent materials. Over the past five years, I have published 111 SCI journal papers. According to Google Scholar, my lifetime h-index is 58, with more than 267 SCI papers published in total and 90% of which are in Q1 journals with a cumulative total of 10,906 citations, demonstrating high caliber in both the quality and quantity of my academic output.

In terms of international collaboration, I have served as a visiting scholar at Hokkaido University (Japan), Kyushu University (Japan), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). I have successively executed bilateral collaboration projects supported by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) with Poland, the UK, and the Philippines, and participated in the NSTC Taiwan-Germany Battery Project as well as the CCU Net-Zero Carbon Emissions Project. In May 2025, I was invited as a visiting professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, underscoring my international academic standing, visibility, and influence in this field.

Regarding industry-academic cooperation, I hold 34 granted patents in Taiwan and have completed 13 technology transfers (with cumulative technology transfer royalties reaching NT$ 18,601,000). My academic leadership service includes serving as Secretary-General of the Electrochemical Society (ECS) Taiwan Section, and as Head of the Research Promotion Division and Associate Dean of the Office of Research and Development at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU). Currently, I serve as President of the Taiwan Carbon Society and Board Director of the Electrochemical Society of Taiwan.

I sincerely thank the review committee for granting me the Yushan Award for Academic Year 2026 at Chung Yuan Christian University. This prestigious honor is not only a personal milestone, but also the fruit of our entire team’s collective effort. Having taught in the Department of Chemical Engineering at CYCU for 14 years, I am most grateful to the students of the Energy and Optoelectronic Materials Laboratory (EOML) for standing shoulder to shoulder with me to face challenges and overcome obstacles. Looking back to 2012, our team started with just one master’s student and two undergraduate research students, focusing on lithium-ion batteries, graphene, and luminescent materials. Today, we have expanded to nearly 30 members, with a research scope extending across cutting-edge fields such as sodium-ion batteries, all-solid-state batteries, MXenes, and perovskite quantum dots.

I extend special thanks to my mentors, Prof. Tsai-Wang Chung at CYCU and Prof. Nae-Lih Wu at National Taiwan University, whose guidance ignited my passion for academia. I am also deeply grateful for the abundant resources and steadfast support provided by Chung Yuan Christian University, which have allowed me to dedicate myself fully to research without worry. Moving forward, I will stay true to my original aspiration and continue driving innovation in energy materials to benefit society.
