Through providing timely counseling advice and assessment suggestions, the professors are dedicated to providing students with the best quality support, hoping to assist them find their own aspirations. Professor Hsien-Li indicated that the students might feel lost without distinctive goals during the journey of studying. However, through appropriate guidance, they can actually think step by step and advance toward the direction of fulfilling their goals.

循序漸進。培養自身

「耐得住」是先莉老師認為會計系學生所需具備的特質。相對於其他專業,會計系學生普遍表現出內向和謹慎的特質,而較少展現外向的特點。然而,這些特點卻為學生在應對複雜且繁瑣的課業時提供了有力的支持,讓他們能夠堅持克服各種困難。同時,「培養韌性」也是先莉老師認為在學習過程中非常重要的成長元素。

會計學科本身注重細緻和準確,要求學生在處理數據和分析報表等工作時具備高度的耐心和專注力。學生經常在團隊中扮演穩定和細膩的角色,並且能夠謹慎處理和把關小細節。對於那些擁有內向性格的學生來說,如果能善用這些特質,將可能成為他們的極大優勢!

Step by Step Cultivating Oneself

“Resilience” is a quality that Professor Hsien-Li Believes the students at the Department of Accounting should be equipped with. As opposed to other professions, students from the Department of Accounting generally demonstrate introverted and cautious qualities with fewer outward characteristics. However, these characteristics rather provided strong support for the students when faced with complicated and intricate school work, allowing them to persist in conquering all types of obstacles. Meanwhile, “cultivating resilience” is also an element that Professor Hsien-Li believes to be vital for growth during the learning process.

Accounting itself emphasizes precision and accuracy, demanding the students to be equipped with a high level of patience and concentration when dealing with data and analyzing statements. The students often play a stable and meticulous role within a team and are capable of carefully handling and reviewing the small details. For those students with an introverted personality, it could be an enormous advantage to them if they can make good use of these qualities!

將「持之以恆」成為習慣

先莉老師熱切期望學生們能在學業之外,嘗試參加社團、追求個人喜好的運動,或者發掘不同的興趣活動。透過這樣多元的體驗,學生們能夠豐富內在世界,同時培養堅持不懈的韌性。先莉老師深刻地建議學生,在踏入社會之前,要找到內心深處的熱情所在。優質的生活、積極的心態,以及良好的生活模式,都是塑造理想自我的重要元素。透過耐心培養,學生們能夠運用所學的韌性,大膽嘗試各種不同的事物,將其應用於日常生活中。

先莉老師特別強調在不同階段,導師扮演了許多重要的角色。尤其在會計領域上,學生通常會選擇相似的職業道路,反而限制了學生接觸多元體驗的機會。在這種情況下,導師的引導變得至關重要。先莉老師鼓勵學生走出舒適區,勇於嘗試新的冒險。她說:「能夠與多元化背景的學生接觸互動,並努力深入瞭解學生的個人情況,這種經驗是難能可貴的。」透過雙方的互動,導師也能夠在一個持續成長和學習的環境中不斷提升自己。

Turning “Perseverance” into a Habit

Professor Hsien-Li eagerly hopes that the students can attempt joining clubs, pursue personal interests like sports, or explore various hobby activities apart from their academics. The students can enrich their inner world while cultivating persevering resilience through such diverse experiences. Professor Hsien-Li strongly recommends the students to find out the passion deep within their hearts before joining society. Quality living, a positive attitude, as well as excellent lifestyle, are all vital elements for sculpturing the ideal self. Through patient cultivation, the students can utilize the resilience they have learned to attempt various types of things boldly, as well as apply them to everyday life.

Professor Hsien-Li emphasized that the professors play multiple significant roles at the different stages. Especially in the field of accounting, the students normally would choose similar career paths, which would rather limit the opportunities of coming into contact with diverse experiences for the students. Under such circumstances, guidance from the professors would become of vital importance. Professor Hsien-Li encourages the students to step out of their comfort zone to bravely embrace new adventures. She said: “Being able to interact with students from diverse backgrounds, as well as making efforts to deeply understand each student’s individual situation is an invaluable experience. “Through mutual interactions, the professors can also constantly improve themselves in an environment that grows and learns continuously.

「回饋」是最好的養份。

「學生適時的回饋」,不論是主動尋求幫助,或在課業和個人情況中需要導師的建議時,都能讓先莉老師感受到被需要的存在與價值。她提到,會計系學生較少機會接觸不同領域的事物。因此,「導師更應投入心力地帶領學生探索,這有助於加強師生之間的關係。就如同植物需要養分一樣,學生在受到建設性的回饋時,能夠茁壯成長。」

先莉老師經常與學生分享,「當自己的經紀人」,這意味著學生有能力主導自己的生活,包括日常行程安排、如何充實及經營自己,以及對未來的長期規劃等。這個觀念提醒學生,他們的每項決策都會影響未來,並且可以從中學習,培養自己的潛力。

“Feedback” is the Best Nourishment

“Timely feedback from the students” always makes Professor Hsien-Li feel the sense and value of being needed, whether it is active seeking of help or when the professor’s advice is required for school work and personal situations. Shen mentioned that the students of the Department of Accounting are faced with fewer opportunities to come in touch with other fields. Therefore, “professors should further devote more effort to guide the students to explore, which is beneficial to the relationship between the professors and the students. Just like how plants require nutrients, the students can also grow steadily upon receiving constructive feedback.”

Professor Hsien-Li often shared with the students to “be your own manager”, meaning that the students are capable of leading their lives, including daily schedule arrangement, how to enrich and manage themselves, as well as long-term planning for the future. This concept reminds the students that each and every decision they make will affect the future, they can learn from these to cultivate their potential.
