經歷了19年的帶班時光,生科系金亭佑老師對待導生們的態度,始終以家人的方式自在相處,溫暖親切的特質,也讓她成為學生口中最值得信賴的「金媽」。
With 19 years of teaching experience, Professor Chin in the Department of Bioscience Technology always treats her students as family, among whom her warm, caring personality has earned her the nickname of “Mother Chin”.
適時調整相處之道 關懷學生各方需求

面對不同世代的學生轉變,金老師自有一套應對方式,慢慢建立彼此的信任感。「過去的學生比較主動,可以一目了然地知道他的學習狀況,而學生也樂於袒露自己『卡關』的地方,給個小提示就能幫助他們主動向前。現在的學生雖然比較被動,但我發現增加自己出現在他們面前的曝光度。讓學生感受到班導是關心他,並且主動詢問、了解學生有無需要協助的地方,或是直接提供求學資訊,營造出『我都在』的氛圍,有助於初來乍到中原的他們更加安心。」她娓娓道來。
Professor Chin has a way of gradually building up a mutual sense of trust when faced with the changing nature of a new generation of students. She says, “Students in the past were more active; you could see their learning status clearly, and they were willing to talk about obstacles, such that a little advice would help them move forward. Although students nowadays are more passive, I have discovered that creating opportunities to work with them and to let them know that their professor cares about them, and asking about what assistance they might need, or providing advice about their education helps to create a sense of ‘I am always here for them,’ which helps to make them feel less worried about being freshmen at Chung Yuan Christian University.”
不論是系上的大小活動,還是每週一至兩組的小組聚餐,都可以看見金亭佑老師穿梭其中、和藹可親的身影。金老師認為校園生活涵括課業、交友和課外起居,因此在學生大二的時候,她會主動且隨機的進行校外賃居學生的訪視。金老師帶著笑意說:「我是為了仔細觀察逃生設備,提醒學生環境空間需要稍加注意的地方。有些學生是合租家庭式租屋,可以彼此清楚了解在校外的交友狀況。有些在租屋處養貓,我們就有共同樂趣與話題,可以邊逗貓、邊聊天。」接著她補充,選擇在學生個人的空間談話,身心上相對放鬆,可以較無壓力向金老師吐露心事,老師自然能更加明瞭他們的想法。
Professor Chin can be found participating in faculty events and weekly team gatherings. She believes that school life includes schoolwork, friendship, and extracurricular activities; she visits students renting houses outside the school when they become sophomores. Professor Chin said with a smile: “My intentions are to check up on the emergency exit and facilities, and to remind them about environmental spaces that they might need to be more careful about. Some students rent family-type houses together, living in a house together with their friends outside of the school. Some students keep cats, so we have a common interest and topic which makes it easy to chat while playing with the cats.” Professor Chin suggests that chatting with students in their personal spaces is more relaxing, and can help give them an opportunity to pour their hearts out without feeling stressed; this helps the professor get to know them better.
加強軟實力 讓自信成為學子踏入職場的墊腳石

來到大三、大四的時候,金亭佑老師就會改以引導的方式,讓學生練習主動思考。金老師化身為「行動資料庫」,除了提供多元的教學方式,老師也將當今的職場脈動分享給學生。在關懷學生課業進度的同時,也會辦理生涯規劃講座,讓導生們透過學長姐和業界講師的互動,釐清自己未來嚮往的道路,媒合到合適的工作機會。來到求學的最後一哩路,大四階段,金老師則以書報討論,訓練學生彙整資料,以及上台簡報的台風與口條能力。「在查找資料文獻的同時,學生也是正一步步確認自己從大一到大三,吸收了哪些專業知識。而將知識透過有利的數據資料呈現,便能內化成為自信心。職場是非常主觀的!有沒有自信心是給面試官的第一印象。所以,讓專業成為學生信心的來源就顯得相當重要。」金亭佑老師懇切地說。
When students advance into their junior and senior years, Professor Chin alters her approach to guidance to let the students practice thinking on their own. She transforms into a “mobile database,” where besides providing diversified teaching methods, she also shares about current career field trends. She organizes career planning forums while caring about students’ progress in school, provides opportunities for students to interact with seniors and lecturers from industry, and helps to clarify the paths toward suitable job opportunities. In the “last mile” of education in their senior year, Professor Chin conducts seminars to train students to organize data and hone their presentation skills. “The students double-check step-by-step what professional knowledge they have built during their previous three years. Presenting this knowledge in the form of a constructive data project will naturally transform into confidence. Subjectivity is very important in the career field! The first impression one gives in an interview is whether they have confidence or not. So it is important to make professionality become the source of confidence for the students.”
金老師發現生科系的學生一開始來到中原時,有些會因為過去的學習歷程造成自信心低落,因此總是在課堂上鼓勵學生相信自己,更常以自身的經歷分享給學生。金亭佑老師相信只要加強不足的部分,自信心自然就會提升。擁有自信就能找到成就、發現工作的熱情,便會活出屬於自己的生命藍圖。
「教書的這些年,我曾經看著也陪伴著一個孩子,從出言不遜、態度不佳直到最後看到他反思自省,然後願意說出心底話。那一刻深切體會到,所有的付出與努力都是值得。我樂於成為學生口中的金媽,也謝謝他們總是笑著回應我的囉唆與碎念…」與其他科系相比,生科系像個慢郎中,都是慢工出細活熬出豐碩成果。金亭佑老師堅信,只要學生們持續懷有對生命的熱情,肯定能收穫美滿璀璨的未來!
Professor Chin discovered that students in the Department of Bioscience Technology show less confidence when they first arrive at Chung Yuan. She always encourages them to believe in themselves during her classes, and shares her own experiences with her students. Professor Chin believes that confidence can be enhanced by reinforcing insufficiencies. Being confident allows one to accomplish, discover a passion for work, and to live the life of their dreams. “In these years of teaching, I have accompanied a student who transformed from someone who was impolite with a bad attitude into a person who is willing to look inward and say what their heart thinks. I realized at that very moment that all my efforts are worthwhile. I am happy to be Mother Chin to students, and I appreciate that they always respond to my nagging with a smile…” The Department of Bioscience Technology moves slowly when compared to other departments, as abundant results all come from slow but sure efforts. Professor Chin believes that students will definitely embrace a beautiful and splendid future as long as they continue to be passionate about life!
