During his tenure, Professor Hong has published 138 SCI journal papers, including 47 in the past five years. According to Google Scholar, his work has been cited 6,647 times, with an h-index of 45 and an i10-index of 117. In the Power Systems category, he is ranked 146th globally and 2nd in Taiwan. Of the 138 SCI journal papers indexed by the Web of Science (WoS), his work has been cited 3,124 times (external citation rate), with an h-index of 35. As of January 2025, I will have served at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) for almost 34 years. This is also my first job, and it remains a position I am passionate about, allowing me to engage in both teaching and research.
Six months after joining CYCU, I helped establish the master\u2019s program in the Department of Electrical Engineering (August 1991). At that time, I had just taken on a project with Taipower and another with the National Science Council. Since then, I have shouldered the challenging workload of teaching\u2014once handling 15 credit hours in a semester\u2014along with demanding research responsibilities. Although CYCU is a private university, it has provided me with the freedom to pursue research and supported me with appropriate resources. To date, I have supervised 139 master’s and doctoral graduates, along with 11 international exchange students. Their individual research contributions have collectively built the impressive achievements of our lab.
Looking back, I see God\u2019s abundant grace.
