\u6d2a\u9038\u5b89\u8001\u5e2b\u6df1\u523b\u6307\u51fa\uff0c\u5728\u9019\u500b\u77ac\u606f\u842c\u8b8a\u7684\u6642\u4ee3\uff0c\u5411\u5e74\u8f15\u4eba\u5b78\u7fd2\u4e26\u4e0d\u662f\u55ae\u5411\u7684\u52c9\u52f5\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u4e00\u7a2e\u96d9\u5411\u7684\u4e92\u52d5\u3002\u5728\u9762\u5c0d\u5916\u90e8\u5f71\u97ff\u6642\uff0c\u4e5f\u8981\u52c7\u6562\u5730\u8ffd\u6c42\u81ea\u5df1\u6240\u71b1\u611b\u7684\u4e8b\u7269\uff0c\u5373\u4f7f\u8def\u9014\u4e2d\u53ef\u80fd\u6703\u611f\u5230\u75b2\u618a\uff0c\u4e5f\u8981\u6709\u52c7\u6c23\u7e7c\u7e8c\u524d\u884c\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Hong Yi-An emphasized that in this rapidly changing era, learning from young people is not just a one-way encouragement but a form of mutual interaction. When facing external influences, it\u2019s important to bravely pursue what one loves, and even when the journey feels exhausting, one must have the courage to keep moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student-Teacher Interaction and Autonomy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, there has been a noticeable shift in students’ personalities. In the past, students were typically very outgoing, and every time they presented their work, it was like watching a star take the stage, proudly showcasing their carefully crafted creations. Today\u2019s students, on the other hand, tend to be more introverted, but this doesn\u2019t stop them from displaying their unique creativity and style. They still shine through their work, effectively conveying their ideas and perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When interacting with her students, Professor Hong feels like she’s chatting with online friends. She often receives late-night messages with academic questions, giving her the sense of being a \u201cmysterious online friend\u201d to her students. As a result, she has decided to grant them more autonomy, maintaining a comfortable distance that allows students to feel at ease in their learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emotional Support and Academic Challenges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Interior Design is known for its heavy workload, with students often pulling all-nighters in the studio to meet deadlines and complete assignments. As the saying goes, “Once you study design, it’s never easy again.” Students face immense pressure, particularly at this stage in life when they must tackle many challenging professional courses. Some, especially those from different regions, are still unfamiliar with technical drawings, requiring significant time to adapt. International students, in addition to language barriers, also rely on the support of upperclassmen. Professor Hong believes that a mentor\u2019s role extends beyond academic guidance to include emotional support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, mentor sessions feel more like casual gatherings where students can relax, share meals, chat, and update Professor Hong on their lives. This creates a home-like atmosphere that helps students unwind. She often prepares snacks to re-energize them before they return to their work. When students pull all-nighters, especially in their second year, Professor Hong sometimes stays with them in the studio through the long nights. One Christmas, she even made red bean soup for students working late, ensuring they felt the warmth of the holiday season and knew they were not alone, despite the challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chasing Dreams with Courage and Staying True to Oneself<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this fast-changing and challenging era, Professor Hong believes we must learn from young people\u2014not only as encouragement for students but as a reminder for everyone. Young people should be bolder and more diligent in society, with a forward-looking vision, firm beliefs, and the courage to uphold their values. Despite external influences and criticisms, or moments of confusion in the pursuit of their dreams, these are precisely the times when we need to stand even firmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
