In response to the rapidly emerging diversified applications of artificial intelligence, starting from September 2018, EECS College of CYCU will launch a new cross-disciplinary Undergraduate Program in Applied Artificial Intelligence. The planned curriculum for the program includes studies of the fundamental Artificial Intelligence principles and techniques in its core, with extended study tracks in a variety of application fields. Currently, there are four study tracks: smart computing, computer vision, smart living and smart manufacturing. In the future, more tracks will be developed to further enhance diversity of our program and allow our graduates to contribute in any area where Artificial Intelligence is needed.


The Undergraduate Program in Applied Artificial Intelligence of CYCU aims to educate students to become ethically responsible and professionally capable leaders in all areas where application of artificial intelligence may enrich the welfare of people while sustaining harmony with the natural environment.


  1. Cultivate professional, creative and forward-looking talents in Applied Artificial Intelligence.
  2. Integrate academic study with field application to realize practical artificial intelligence applications.
  3. Employ artificial intelligence technology to promote public well-being while sustaining harmony with the natural environment.

Future Prospects

Graduates of the program can directly go into artificial intelligence application related career positions with industry or government, or continue their education in graduate degree programs.

They may also choose to combine artificial intelligence with a second career interest by pursuing additional programs in or other professional studies.


A student who takes the BS degree of Undergraduate Program in Applied Artificial Intelligence must take 36 general education credits, and 92 major related credits. and totaling 128 credits.


May continue to study in the graduate program in computer engineering, computer science and all application fields.
