Chung Yuan Christian University Overseas Volunteer Program Moves Forward

The Chung Yuan Christian University Overseas Volunteer Program yields fruitful results this year. This summer, CYCU faculties and students had their footprints spread across Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. They visited nine countries, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, the Philippines, China, Australia, Spain, Mauritius, and Iceland to provide education, community services, house building, environment protection, events planning, and all kinds of voluntary services. The Overseas Volunteer Program not only publicizes the spirit of holistic education but also improves the civil diplomacy by serving and learning at the same time.

“The Overseas Service Learning Presentation & Appreciation Banquet” was held by the CYCU Service Learning Center on October 26th. The activity attracted some 300 audiences from in and out of the campus. About 100 students from seven junior and senior high schools in Taoyuan County participated in this event, including students from Chih Ping Senior High School, Dayuan Senior High School, Jhongli Commercial High School, Chi-Ying Senior High School, Dong Sing Junior High School, Shih Men Junior High School, and Longgong Junior High School. Their enthusiastic participation reflects CYCU students’ determination to promote the concept of international social care among high school students.
