Student must complete their master program in four years.

Ph.D Program
A. Courses
In addition to 12 credit hrs in Doctoral Dissertation, at least 30 credit hrs of courses (excluding 2 credit hrs required for Seminars) must be fulfilled in the following seven programs: Management Technologies; Production Systems; Quality Management; Manufacturing Systems; Operations Research; Information systems and Human Factors Engineering. The student must choose one major program and two minor programs. At least five courses (15 credits hrs) must be taken in the major program and at least two courses (6 credit hrs) must be taken from each minor program.
B. Exams
Candidates must pass the qualifying exam after they fulfill 32 credits hrs requirement for the courses. For the dissertation, they must pass proposal exam and final defense exam of the dissertation. C. Publications
Before having the final defense of dissertation, Candidates must have at least two journal papers published with the affiliation Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Chung Yuan Christian University. Among these papers, at least one must be published in the Journal with SCI, SSCI or EI indexed and the second one must be published in the Journal with SCI, SSCI or EI indexed or published in a journal verified by National Science council of Taiwan as an excellent journal.
D. Time Limit
Candidates must complete their doctoral program in seven years.


*The Chinese language courses for the international program are required on a non-credit basis. The other requirements for International Ph.D. program are adherent to the “Guidelines for The Doctoral Program of Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering”.
