College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science - BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
About US
Introduction

In response to the national development, this Program cultivates interdisciplinary talents with comprehensive knowledge and integration capability. The Program recruited incoming students since 2009. Starting in 2011, this Program adopted “Education Programs” for undergraduate studies by establishing 11 Education Programs in professional discipline developments in Departments of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information & Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. For each professional Education Program, the students need to take 15 credits in required courses and 13 credits in elective courses; they can take interdisciplinary study according to their individual interests, with adaptive developments and with fully-developed personal potentials.

The characteristics of this Program are as follows:

  • To have the students achieve suitability and adaptability, with multiple choices
  • To cultivate the students with Interdisciplinary studies to achieve all-round talents
  • To provide the students with guidance in learning and with counseling for elites
  • To provide the students with diverse professional backgrounds to achieve multiple employment choices

Mission

The missions of this Program are to educate the students to apply mathematics, science, engineering, and management principles to solve problems related to Electrical/Information Engineering, to cultivate the students to possess the professional capabilities, to train the students to possess career goal planning ability, and to nurture the students to become technical talents with interdisciplinary training and international perspectives.

Education Characteristics:
In response to the technological developments and with the “Education Program” learning, the characteristics of this Program are (1) to have the students achieve suitability and adaptability, with multiple choices, (2) to cultivate the students with Interdisciplinary studies to achieve all-round talents, (3) to allow the students to have flexibility in choices with high degree of freedom, and (4) to provide the students with diverse professional backgrounds to achieve multiple employment choices.

Objectives

  1. To educate the students to apply mathematics, science, engineering, and management principles to solve various problems related to Electrical/Information Engineering.
  2. To cultivate the students to possess the professional capabilities and to train the students to possess career goal planning ability.
  3. To nurture the students to become technical talents with interdisciplinary training and international perspectives.

Future Prospects

For the Undergraduate Program in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and under rich and diverse Education Program training, the students would possess cross electrical/information or industrial management background and capability. In the future, whether they choose to obtain continual education training or choose to get employed, they would achieve high competitiveness – the former choices are to be trained by the graduate schools at domestic or international universities in the related fields of electrical engineering, electronic engineering, information & computer engineering, and industrial & systems engineering; the latter choices are to be employed by the domestic or international industries in the related fields of electrical engineering, electronic engineering, information & computer engineering, and industrial & systems engineering.
